Strictly Come Dancing’s Dame Darcey Bussell was stunned after discovering that she shared a house with the Queen.
The 53-year-old popular ballet dancer, who has been made a Dame by the Queen, recently discovered that she once lived in the same house as her.
A new Channel 4 series about the Queen and her passions sees viewers learn that the Queen spent the first year of her life living at White Lodge in Richmond.

Just like us, Darcey also learned about Queen’s first residence.
But in a unique twist, she also realised that she once lived in the famous lodge too.
The lodge was once loaned to the Royal Ballet School where Darcey trained when she was a teenager.
This means that she and the Queen share a unique link.
The Strictly Come Dancing favourite has now opened up to the Daily Mail about this exciting realisation, explaining how she finds it “strange”.
She added: “When you embark on a project like this, you want to make a connection.
“And obviously we have our links through the arts, with the Queen being a patron of so many of the companies and charities I’ve been involved in.
“But I had no idea we had once shared a home.”
She went on to tell the paper that she knew White Lodge had royal history but she hadn’t appreciated that the Queen’s parents were living there when the Queen was born.
Darcey added: “It was completely surreal to think that the studio that I trained and sweated in as a young student was the royal family’s living room.
“All of us who went through that school knew it was a special place – it has a sort of aura about it – but it was nice to learn the history of somewhere I knew so well.”
Darcey received an OBE in the 1995 New Year Honours for services to ballet, and then a CBE in the 2006 Birthday Honours.
And that’s not all because she was also awarded a DBE in the 2018 New Year Honours for services to dance.
