BRIT Awards viewers branded Emma Corrin “unrecognisable” as she delivered an epic speech in collaboration with gong winners Little Simz for their show stopping performance.
As fans tuned in up and down the country for the biggest British music ceremony, they were treated to an incredible performance by the British rapper group.
But viewers couldn’t help but spot a familiar face in the group as The Crown star took centre stage with an empowering speech at the O2.
Yet the 26-year-old looked worlds away from TV presentation as she pulled her blonde tresses back to showcase her sweeping curtain bangs.
And it’s fair to say were shocked with her transformation on stage as they took to Twitter to share their excitement for her new look online.
One user penned: “Little Simz bringing on The Crown’s Princess Diana is a boss level move. #BRITS.”
Another added: “Sorry I haven’t quite recovered from princess Diana making a lil appearance there [cry laughing emoji] warn Emma Corrin.”
A third asked: “What the f**k is Princess Diana doing ere !!!! #BRITS”
But many viewers couldn’t help but link her sudden appearance to the announcement that Queen Elizabeth II requested her daughter-in-law, Camilla, be named Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascends to the throne.
The statement, released on Saturday (5 February) night, reads: “And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”
Viewers up and down the country were quick to point out the connection as Emma Corrin gave her powerful speech on stage alongside the popular rap group.
One user penned: “Not the #BRITs rolling out Princess Diana the week the Queen says Camilla will be [crown emoji] #brits2022 [three cry laughing emojis].”
Another agreed: “princess Diana showing up onstage at the brits after the announcement about queen camilla … iconic #BRITs.”
