The Masked Singer judges dramatically ‘walked off the set in protest’ as politician Rudy Giuliani was unveiled.

The 77-year-old politician was the first celebrity to be unmasked on the Fox version of the hit reality competition.

The Masked Singer US unmasked the former New York mayor during its first episode of season seven.

The reveal caused quite the shock and reportedly caused a dramatic reaction from judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke.

According to Deadline, the two gobsmacked judges “quickly left the stage in protest” of Rudy’s involvement.

The remaining judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained onstage and “bantered” the the controversial politician who backed President Donald Trump and pressed that the 2020 election was “stolen” from the 75-year-old.

Ken and Robin eventually returned to the stage but it is unclear what the show will do with the footage as the series is now scheduled to air until March.

The contestants on the show are celebrities hiding under elaborate costumes, who even disguise their voices, in a hope to conceal their identities until they are eliminated.

The news outlet did not reveal the details of Rudy’s costume or anything about his performance.

However, it isn’t the first time that the hit Fox show has caused controversy due to its contestants.

Republican politician and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was unmasked as the Bear after appearing on the show in 2020.

She was eliminated after performing Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back.

The 57-year-old described her experience on the Fox series as “the weirdest thing I’ve ever done”.

Palin praised The Masked Singer for inviting a conservative contestant as one of the celebs.

The new series is due to premier on Wednesday, March 9 on Fox and is set around the theme The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly.
