The foursome, were seen in pictures obtained by The Sun, hopping into a black cab as they laughed and joked and whizzed off together.
At the time, Ekin-Su had been busy working away in LA and was not present at the event.
Not wanting to skim over the situation, presenter Phil cut to the chase, asking the TV star all about “Icelandic ladies” in the taxi.
In spite of how it seemed, Davide insisted it was innocent and “not nice for Ekin-Su” who fortunately believed his version of the truth.
He told Phil: “It’s not been nice for her [he pointed at Ekin-Su sat beside him] for her to be put in this situation.
Davide added: “But we were speaking all night and she knew the truth, I knew the truth so when we saw newspaper I was actually laughing.”
Phil asked Ekin-Su: “And you were away?”
“I was in LA,” chimed the Turkish beauty, adding: “I think I was on a shoot at nighttime and I heard the fans going ‘Ekin-Su your man’s been seen with two girls’.
The reality star went on: “I immediately text Davide asking ‘what’s going on?’
“Then I called him, we spoke and I know that from the club he was going to there was a bunch of people that were going as well.
“But there was only limited cabs.”
Explaining the situation wasn’t as it appeared, Davide got his point across as he chimed in: “There was also a friend at the actual club waiting for me who came in with a bunch of people, so it was not just me.”
Ekin-Su insisted that she was standing by her man with the pair nodding together that they “knew what happened” in spite of what may have been alluded in print.
The Love Island winner said: “It’s nice the fans are sticking up but the relationship is always private and only you know the truth.
“You know that’s it you just have to block it out and even in real life whether you’re not in the public eye, people are going to say things at work ‘she’s flirting with her boss’, you just have to cut it all out and be you.”
Holly lunged in: “Well as long as you trust each other that’s all that matters.”
With tension brewing in the air, Phil’s co-host Holly quickly moved on to nicer questions about their upcoming reality show which will explore their on-screen romance further following their stint on the ITV dating show.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
