A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton welled up and apologised to her house hunters for a mistake “unbeknown to her”.
The Channel 4 beauty admitted it was the first time ever happened in her 10 years of hosting the programme.
She took couple Lucia and Doc to the town of Alora in southern Spain and showed them five properties within their budget of £120,000.

The semi-retired couple narrowed their favourites down to two properties— a two-bed townhouse and a five-bed house with a rooftop pool.
After a night of consideration, Doc and Lucia made up their mind.
The 50-year-old said: “We saw property five and irrespective of the work that needs to be done inside, the reality is we want to spend our time here outside and that terrace gives us all that.
“So it doesn’t matter that we have to spend time renovating and replacing bathrooms, kitchens.
“That’s become really a side issue.
“That terrace space pretty much gives us what we need from a place in Spain.”
Laura frowned and looked sad as she struggled to get the words out.
“Okay, now I’ve got something to tell you, which is a really, really awful to do,” she said.
“And I’ve never, ever, in my 10 years of being part of this show, had to do this.
“Yesterday afternoon, property five, unbeknown to us and unbeknown to the agent, I’m not sure if you’re aware here in Spain that there were multiple agents that work on properties.
“The property owner had given authority to a family member to take an offer from somebody else and it’s not just a verbal offer.

“They’ve put a holding deposit down.”
Both Lucia and Doc were shocked as they had to hold back from putting an offer.
Lucia added: “Wow, okay. That happened quickly. That’s a bit of a shock, isn’t it?”
And Laura got welled up and said: “I’m just, I’m so sorry. I’m really, I’m, God, it’s awful.
“I’ve been sat here thinking ‘how do I break this to you?’ This is just awful but things happen for a reason.”
At the end of the show, Laura gave updates to viewers and said the estate agent gave a call to Lucia and Doc, telling them that the buyer had fallen through.
The couple immediately made an offer and it was accepted.
Laura added: “I wish them all the very best for the future in their dream home.”
