Two Amish women were left emotional as they tried on swimwear for the first time ever.
Maureen and Rosanna, stars of TLC reality show Breaking Amish and Return to Amish, headed out for a shopping spree to try on ‘English’ – that’s non-Amish – beachwear.
But ditching the modesty that’s expected of Amish gals proved a difficult barrier to break, and Maureen was left hiding behind her hands as she slipped into a plunging one-piece.

First, Maureen tried on a blue swimsuit with cut-out geometric patterns and a plunging neckline, but attempted to cover her body with her hands when she emerged from the changing room.

Rosanna, meanwhile, opted for a brightly coloured floral bikini which left her washboard abs on display.
Next, Maureen sampled a green one-piece with a daring cut-out section just under the bust, featuring spaghetti straps and a high-cut thigh which was at odds with her Amish bonnet.
Rosanna stood beside her in a black and orange striped two-piece, leaving her slender thighs and tummy on full display.
Both girls performed a twirl for the camera, though Maureen initially fumed: “No, I’m not spinning around! You’re not looking at my butt!”

Maureen confessed she was “scared” to try on her new beachwear, before confessing: “Rosanna’s embarrassed to wear a swimsuit because most Amish women aren’t prepared to wear [one] because… they don’t mow the grass.”
But eventually Maureen was persuaded to try on a bikini with a full black bra top and striped bottoms.
“Do you think the bishop would approve now?” she joked, before getting serious as she said: “If the people back home would see me right now, they wouldn’t be very happy with me.

“They would probably tell me to leave and that they don’t want to see me again.”
Eventually, even their grandmother Ada was also convinced to try on a bright coral one-piece – admitting she was “so nervous”.
She said: “If the bishop were to find out we all bought swimsuits, we would all get shunned. The Amish don’t show their skin like that.”
