Some one hit wonders are simply destined to end up in the ether after being catapulted to fame with their most famous songs.
One of those acts, sadly, is the trio 3 Of A Kind, who released their UK number one Baby Cakes way back in 2004. But after their one big hit, the trio parted ways and went on to have very different careers.
The UK garage band based the hit on the American TV movie Baby Cakes, starring Ricki Lake and Craig Sheffer in 1989.

The film followed Grace, an insecure girl who spent Christmas attempting to begin a romance with a guy who works on the subway she boarded every day.
3 Of A Kind star Liana ‘Miz Tipzta’ Caruana said of the song, which she wrote in 1998: “The words are written about someone I knew, but generally it’s based on the film’s love story. Basically, the girl knows the man is ‘The One’ but he doesn’t realise it.”
But what happened to Liana? And for that matter, what happened to her fellow bandmates, Nicholas Gallante – AKA MC Devine – and Marc Portelli?
Though the band did record a follow up single entitled Wink One Eye, the track was never released and, after Baby Cakes shot to number one in the UK, they never saw further chart success.
Nicholas, for a start, has gone on to make a U-turn in his public career. Back in 2014, he appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks as part of its famous Identity Parade round, where contestants had to guess who he was.
On the show, Nicholas confirmed he is no longer part of a band, but is instead a professional party planner.
He branded his company – obviously – Babycakes Parties.

Liana, meanwhile, looked totally unrecognisable in the last pictures posted to her social media, sporting a loose brunette ponytail.
OK! Magazine reported that it looked like she has opted for a career in art, with one snap showing the star covered in white paint as she contemplated her “next project”.
Marc Portelli, meanwhile, switched up his career to become a professional poker player, while Capital Xtra reported one member of the band “works on radio station Feeling Many” – though it’s unclear which.
