BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt ended his chat with Sir Lenny Henry early when he warned the comedian “you shouldn’t say that”.
Much-loved breakfast host Charlie halted the show on Thursday, March 2, when he issued a warning to the beloved star after he made a cheeky statement.
Sir Lenny was in the studio to discuss World Book Day, as well as plugging his book The Boy With Wings: Attack Of The Rampaging Robot.

Chatting about his childhood and how his love of books was sparked as a youngster, Lenny recalled the moment he joined the library as a child.

Speaking on the show with Charlie, Lenny said: “When I was nine or 10, my auntie took me to Dudley library and made me [join the library]. She said ‘Go in there and disappear’, so I did.”
Recalling what happened, he added: “And the librarians were brilliant. They showed me all these books and it meant I could immerse myself in all these imaginary worlds. Learn about creativity.

“Because when you read a book, you can cast it, you can design the sets, you can imagine what hair people have got. You can do everything in your imagination and that is why it is important.”
Lenny added: “It’s sort of a human right,” referring to people having an imagination.
He went on: “I have a mate called Steven Power. He collected comics and the tatty ones he would give to me so I read Spider-Man, Batman, Fantastic Four, all of those things.”

Adding: “Then I joined the library. The library is such a great place, guys you have got to get into it!
“You go there, they give you six books, you take them home and you never have to bring them back!”
Charlie then cut Lenny off and said: “You really shouldn’t say that, you know you shouldn’t say that.”
Giving two thumbs up to the camera, the comedian added “BBC you must tell the children this! Go to the library now and get free books!”
