BBC Breakfast host shake-up as Naga Munchetty ‘still missing’ from morning show

BBC Breakfast faced yet another host shake-up as regular presenter Naga Munchetty was ‘still missing’ from Saturday’s show (April 22).

Since her debut back in 2006, 48-year-old Naga is a regular on the hit BBC show – hosting from Monday to Saturday with co-host Charlie Stayt on the famous sofa.

The pair have gone down a treat with viewers at home, so much so that they have grown used to seeing them on their screens as they start their day.

But fans hoping to kickstart their Saturday with Naga were in for a shock as he was missing from his usual spot on the iconic red sofa.

Instead, Rachel Burden stepped into the hot seat to host the show alongside Charlie, so he wasn’t left to hold the fort on his own.

Rachel is no stranger for helping co-host BBC Breakfast if a regular presenter is unable to.

She first made her debut back in 2015 and her husband is also a familiar face to plenty – as he also works as a journalist for the BBC.

Rachel has been presenting on BBC Breakfast since 2015

The blonde beauty is married to Luke Mendham, who has worked on various BBC programmes including Panorama, along with Channel 4’s long-running documentary Dispatches.

The star has also worked on everything from Watchdog to Britain’s Secret Charity Cheats.

Rachel has four children, and relocated to the Cheshire countryside of Knutsford after originally living in London.

Naga meanwhile, who first appeared on BBC Breakfast nearly two decades ago, has been missing from recent BBC Breakfast shows this week.

On Thursday (April 20) Naga was replaced by Nina Warhurst who joined forces with Charlie to present fans with the top headlines of the day – and fans soon praised the shake-up with plenty gushing over Nina.

As well as BBC Breakfast, Naga hosts her own Radio 5 Live phone-in show from Monday to Wednesday, where she chats to viewers about the latest issues facing the country.
