BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood has married her long-term partner Steve Randall in a secret ceremony two days after Christmas.
The amazing news was announced on BBC Breakfast on Friday by presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayat. Carol, 61, who previously revealed her engagement live on television, had a secret ceremony in Buckinghamshire on Wednesday (December 27).
Informing viewers on the Breakfast show on Friday, host Naga said: “We’re going to bring you some news, which lots of you are already really delighted with. Erm Carol, Carol Kirkwood, our friend and colleague has got married!

“She married her partner Steve this week.” Showing a picture of the loved-up couple on their wedding day, Charlie added that the photo was “lovely”. Naga agreed and said they both looked “just beautiful”.

Naga continued: “They tied the knot in Buckinghamshire on Wednesday. Carol said it was the most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding, we’re both so happy.
“And lots of you have been in touch as well! We obviously wish Carol and Steve the best but many of you have been sending in best wishes.”
Charlie then went on to confess that he’s only seen the snaps from Carol’s wedding this morning. He then read a portion of sweet messages from viewers who were quick to congratulate the weather presenter.
Carol first announced that she was engaged last year live from the Chelsea Flower Show. Flashing her gorgeous ring, Carol described how Steve asked for her hand in marriage.
She said: “We went out for a picnic, I had absolutely no idea. The weather was glorious, we were sitting chatting… he was fumbling in his pocket and then out came a ring, I thought he was joking actually, I didn’t believe him to start with.”

Since the news that Carol is now hitched was announced, fans have taken to social media to congratulate her. One viewer said: “Congratulations Carol and Steve happy for you both.”
Another penned: “Massive congratulations to Carol & Steve you look amazing stunning.” While a third added: “Congratulations on their beautiful wedding. Carol is a star in her own right so caring and funny. Lucky Steve. Be blessed.”
