Billie Eilish had fans going wild as she pulled a pair of lacy pink knickers down for her latest Instagram snap.
The What Was I Made For songstress headed to Variety’s annual Hitmakers event this weekend, where she walked the red carpet and answered questions about her attraction to women – but later slammed the publication for “outing” her.
Billie wowed in a silky blue Dodgers varsity jacket and a pair of baggy dark jeans, tugging a pastel pink woollen hat emblazoned with a star over her dark hair and adding a pair of retro plastic glasses with the frames pushed out. She struck a variety of poses for the waiting cameras before cheekily strutting away.

While at the event, she and her brother Finneas snagged the Film Song of the Year award for their hit Barbie track What Was I Made For. Billie gushed: “I feel lucky we were thought of to make this song. It really saved us from a creative meltdown. It was just what we needed in our writers’ block.”
Later, she tugged those baggy jeans down while sitting on what appeared to be a toilet, giving fans a glimpse of her black belt and silver buckle, which featured two female silhouettes crawling on all fours towards each other, as though about to kiss. A pair of black lace-up trainers finished off the ensemble.
But it was Billie’s pink knickers with a lace border and tiny yellow rose embroidered onto the front that had fans talking, as she tugged them down to reveal a sliver of bare thigh. The star – who is notorious for her baggy clothes – even bared an expanse of her flat tummy when her jacket hitched up on the carpet.
She was asked about coming out on the carpet, and told press: “I kind of thought, ‘Wasn’t it obvious?’ I didn’t realise people didn’t know.” She added: “I just don’t really believe in it. I’m just like, ‘Why can’t we just exist?’ I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops.”
Billie then said her first reaction to the story going to print was: “Oh, I guess I came out today. Okay, cool.” She went on: “It’s exciting to me because I guess people didn’t know, but it’s cool that they know. I am for the girls.”
She originally told Variety for its Power of Women issue: “I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.”
But captioning her latest post on Instagram, Billie appeared to criticise the publication, writing: “Thanks Variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking about anything else that matters. I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares, stream What Was I Made For!”

Another posted: “I’m glad I’m not the only one wearing granny panties!”, while a fourth said: “The belt is giving!” A fifth social media user then said: “We support you no matter what baby!”
Elsewhere at the Variety Hitmakers event, country star Maren Morris took home the Changemaker of the Year award, while Ashley Gorley was awarded Songwriter of the Year. Victoria Monét was handed the Triple Threat Award for her work as an artist, songwriter and producer, while Sabrina Carpenter won the Rising Star gong.
