Boyzone star Shane Lynch has a phobia of candles.
The singer, 46, admits being near them reminds him of “death”.
He said: “I have a candle phobia. It’s been for as long as I can remember.”
Revealing he wouldn’t go into a room with lots of candles in it, he added: “That is like death to me.”

Shane is so scared of them, he has banned wife Sheena, 42, and their daughters Billie Rae, 14, and Marley Mae, 10, from bringing any candles into the family home.
He said: “I don’t have candles in my house or any small flames… lighters, matches, candles. I don’t want them anywhere near me and my house.”
A crippling fear of fire is known pyrophobia.
Sufferers are scared of flames even when they pose no threat, such as candles.
Symptoms can include shortness of breath, sweating, a tight chest and dizziness.
Treatments used to tackle pyrophobia include exposure therapy, talk therapy and hypnosis.
It isn’t known how common the condition is, but it’s estimated around 12% of people suffer from a phobia.
A host of other celebs have admitted to having unusual phobias.
Hollywood hunk Matthew McConaughey, 52, is scared of revolving doors, Liam Payne, 29, doesn’t like spoons and Martin Freeman, 51, hates avocados.
It comes about Shane has spoken candidly about his future plans and said he has quit showbiz for good.
The singer put to bed rumours he might re-join the Irish boyband in the future and said he is instead enjoying life running his businesses.
Since Boyzone disbanded in 2000, Shane opened a chain of 1920s inspired barber shops called The Elk & Clipper and owns an Irish bar in Cheshire with his wife Sheena White.
Speaking to Christine Lampard during an episode of Lorraine last year, Shane said: “Look, I love my boys to pieces and I think for me personally the last set we ever did, certainly in Ireland with yourself there, that was kind of the last show for me.
“I’ve had enough really, I love business life and I love everything that I’ve created and built up to because sometimes you go back on tour and you lose a lot.
“You lose a lot of family life, too. So I think I’m steady where I am and very happy not to be apart of that world anymore.”
