EastEnders legend Rita Simons will be making her much-anticipated return as Roxy Mitchell in Thursday’s episode of the hit BBC One soap.
The 46-year-old first set foot in Albert Square as blonde bombshell Roxy, back in 2007 – alongside her sister and bestie Ronnie.
But the nation was left devastated when show bosses axed the two sisters and killed them off in a tragic ending that aired in 2017.

In one of the long-running soap’s most controversial episodes ever, the sisters met their untimely deaths by drowning together on Ronnie’s wedding day.
But now, six years on and in a surprise twist, Roxy has made an epic comeback on the BBC soap during Thursday’s episode (April 27).
In a first look at the emotional scene aired on Thursday, Roxy’s daughter Amy attended a counselling session, accompanied by dad Jack, worried she might turn to self-harm.
The session soon turned on to the topic of Roxy, to which the counsellor said to Amy: “Imagine she’s here right now, what would you want to say to her?”
“Did, erm,” she began, before getting emotional.
“Did you ever really love me?” Amy said, before the counsellor asked: “And what would you think she would say to that?”
Then suddenly, Roxy appeared and proclaimed: “Of course I love you I still do.”
She went on: “My baby, with all my heart,” as Amy watched on looking flustered.
“Then where are you?” Amy asked.
“I’m here,” Roxy replied, before reaching to the ‘Mum’ necklace Amy was wearing.
“I wish you would have been stronger. You didn’t need to drink or take drugs. Wasn’t I enough?” Amy asked.
“Oh baby, you are” Roxy replied, adding: “You were the one thing I had, the one good thing. I was fighting for you.”
Amy fired back with tears in her eyes: “But you didn’t fight hard enough.”
Roxy then stood up in frustration, walked across the room to sit next to Amy and told her: “I did, I tried. I’m not a bad person I promise.”
Amy then pleaded: “I need a mum, someone who understands.”
“You’ve got a mum, what don’t you understand,” Roxy quipped back.
“I’m here, right now. This is your chance to talk to me darling,” she said.
Amy then started to open up about her recent heartache, and the two even recalled a sweet poem they wrote over ten years ago.
