“This is an extremely painful emotion for her so she needs to burn through it as quickly as possible to get to the other side of it. And she does that in a very self-destructive, but probably a very predictable and understandable way.”

As Gina’s turmoil unfolds, she seeks solace in excessive drinking, pushing her further into a downward spiral.

Matters take a turn for the worse when Gina’s dad George reveals the full details of their mother’s disappearance, leaving Gina and her sister devastated by his actions.

Amidst the challenges and emotional upheaval that Gina is set to face, Francesca shared a glimmer of hope for her character.

“We get to see Gina being a good sister. You get to see that she’s very emotionally intelligent and that she’s a big empath, which is probably why she sticks her nose in other people’s business, but I think it’s because she’s very perceptive,” said Francesca.

“We’re going to see her having a lot of fun, and we start to see her enjoy her time on the Square, and her finding her place and finding the fun. But we also see her find the pain because there is a lot of pain.”
