Radio and TV presenter Roman Kemp has revealed a bizarre thing his famous dad does when filming Gogglebox.
Speaking on the Staying Relevant podcast, Roman opened up about what it’s like to work with his dad and his “funny to watch” quirks. Roman claimed that though his dad is such a “nice guy”, he is definitely able to put people in their place.
He told Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks on their show: “So I tell you a funny story like recently so we do Gogglebox every year and it’s always funny to watch how my dad works.

“I love watching how my dad works because he’s built this thing of like, almost national treasure level. He’s a nice guy but when he does go serious people really listen to him.
Roman continued: “My dad doesn’t like doesn’t want any of the crew in the house when we shoot Gogglebox. He doesn’t want any crew in so they sit in a van outside with cables going out to this van.
“My dad was like, ‘Yeah, but you know, if you wanna go to the bathroom, you know, you can come in’. And so this year, and I’ve never heard this one before…
“A producer poked his head around the corner and said ‘Martin, can I use your toilet’. He goes ‘Yeah, sure. But sit down though, mate’. He just told someone to take a sit down p**.”
Roman also revealed he can be strict when it comes to timings on jobs and is quick to set the tone on set. The Capital Radio star added: “Whenever we go to a job if they’re like, ‘Okay, Martin, this job is gonna take about three hours”. My dad will say: “We’ll get it done in an hour” and then everyone panics.”
Spandau Ballet star Martin, 62, is married to the former backup singer of Wham! Shirley Kemp, 61, after tying the knot back in 1988. The couple share two children together, singer-songwriter Hayley, 34, and Roman, 30.
