Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo rose to fame very quickly after appearing on the popular medical drama.
Ellen’s character, Meredith Grey, was the focal point of the show before she bowed out this year and simply became a character who would occasionally reappear in episodes. She’s hoping to focus on other projects which include producing as well as acting gigs.
While she landed her stint on the iconic show in 2005, she appeared in another beloved TV show just one year prior. Ellen had a very brief stint on Friends as Missy Goldberg.

Missy was in attendance at a college reunion with Ross Gellar and Chandler Bing when it emerged both of them had previously had a crush on her. It turns out they’d made a pact for neither of them to date her in a bid to protect their friendship.
However, Missy confessed that she and Chandler had actually shared a few secret kisses in the past. A disgruntled Ross was furious that Chandler had broken the pact and Chandler soon admitted he knew that Ross had also broken it too.
The storyline set up the perfect twist which saw Ross and Monica discover they’d kissed each other, much to their surprise, with Ross believing he had kissed Rachel. Missy was never mentioned again, but played a big part in the episode.
The cameo is now just one of the many small parts on Ellen’s long IMDB list, which sees Grey’s Anatomy and its spin-off show Station 19 at the top of the list. After starting off with just a cameo on Friends, Ellen went on to become the third highest paid actress and fifth highest paid actor in 2018.
Ellen landed a huge deal and signed for $20million a year in 2018, bringing in $575,000 per episode for Grey’s Anatomy. She then started producing the show throughout the 14th season and became an executive producer on Station 19.
The TV star previously explained how she managed to get signed off on such a huge salary, telling The Hollywood Reporter that after being loyal to showrunner Shonda Rhimes, she was “generous” with her power. Ellen had gone to Shonda and said she wanted to feel empowered and to feel “ownership” of the show.
It ultimately resulted in Ellen becoming the highest paid woman on TV, landing the job of producer on the show and be a co-executive producer on the spinoff.
