Here, Daily Star takes a look back at Glynis Barber’s relationship timeline.
Paul Antony-Barber (1976-1979)
Glynis met her first husband Paul Antony-Barber at drama school in the seventies.
Paul has appeared in a number of huge TV shows and blockbuster films throughout the years, including The Golden Compass, The Limehouse Golem, The Professionals, The Bill, House of Anubis, The Royals and Free Rein – to name a few.
He also played Robert in four episodes of EastEnders in 2004.
The couple married in 1976, but divorced three years later in 1979.
Steven Pacey (Unknown)
Glynis landed her breakthrough TV role in BBC sci-fi series Blakes 7 in 1981, when she played Soolin during series four.
She had also previously played Blakes 7 character Mutoid in 1978.
It was not just fame that she found on the show however, but also love, after she dated co-star and Del Tarrant actor Steven Pacey.
Michael Brandon (1989 – present)
One of Glynis’ most famous roles outside of her many soap appearances was in British police drama Dempsey and Makepeace, where she played Sgt. Harriet Makepeace.
Her chemistry with James Dempsey co-star Michael Brandon continued away from the programme, with the on-screen pair becoming a couple in real life.
Like Gynis, Michael had been married before and had two high profile marriages – first to actress Kim Novak in the early seventies, and then to The Bionic Woman actress Lindsay Wagner from 1976 to 1979.
However when Glynis recalled her first meeting with Michael, the Daily Mail reported her as saying she thought he was “completely obnoxious,” as she didn’t realise he was already practising playing his character Dempsey.
“I didn’t know Michael at all, so I didn’t know that he was already practising his character and I just thought he was completely obnoxious,” said Glynis.
“He was really loud, yelling at the top of his voice. I had a boyfriend at the time and I went home and said, ‘That man is a nightmare, I don’t know how I’m going to work with him.”
However the pair hit it off and Glynis and Michael later married on November 18, 1989.
They have since welcomed one son together called Alex.
When asked by The Sunday Post if she and Michael will ever work together again, Glynis also joked: “He’s desperate to work with me, I’m not so keen! Just joking if he reads this!”
