The motorcycle-riding, violin-playing Mercedes Da Silva arrived in Summer Bay on Friday (July 21) and already has heads turning as she reunited with Remi Carter (Adam Rowland)
The stunning rock chick, played by 35-year-old Amali Golden, has been introduced to Home and Away as Lyrik’s “secret weapon” which Remi believes going to help them win Battle of the Bands.
After calling an urgent band meeting, Remi confided in Bree (Juliet Godwin) that he’d hired a violinist to play with them on stage.

And when Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) discovered it was Mercedes, she hit the roof.
As fans wait to find out the history Mercedes shares with Remi and Eden, Daily Star has looked at Amali’s life away from the soap.
Singing career
In 2004 aged 16, Amali auditioned for the second series of Australian Idol and made it to the final 12.
After finishing in 10th, she went on to release her own self-funded independent album, touring Australia and playing at festivals such as East Coast Blues & Roots and The Southern Roots.
In a bid to relaunch her singing career, Amali took to the X Factor Australia stage 10 years later and attempted to wow the judges with her voice.
Auditioning in front of celebrity judges Redfoo, Dannii Minogue, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Ronan Keating, the 25-year-old belted out her own rendition of Rather Be by Clean Bandit.
Former Boyzone star Ronan, 46, admitted he felt the choice of song wasn’t the right fit for her.
“I don’t feel you put your best foot forward with that song choice,” he said, adding; “It wasn’t your comfort zone.”
However, she still managed to impress the judges and Ronan joined Natalie and Dannii in their decision to send Amali through to Bootcamp.
Marvel fame
Amali has starred in a number of hit movies and even appeared alongside Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnorak.
Landing a brief role, the actress played Asguardian Date #2 in the third instalment of the superhero franchise.
In 2020, Amali landed the part of Young Farida in TV series Bloom and also appeared in horror film Black Water: Abyss alongside former Home and Away star Luke Mitchell, who portrayed Romeo Smith from 2009 to 2013.
The same year, she starred opposite Dylan O’Brien in adventure film Love and Monsters, playing the role of Ava.
Amali has had main roles in numerous TV series including Bondi Slayer (2020), Wakefield (2021) and Bali 2002 (2022), starring Bridgerton’s Claudia Jessie.
Aside from her role as Mercedes, her most recent on-screen appearance came in sci-fi series La Brea, playing the part of Catherine for two episodes.
Family life
Amali has been married to producer and music director Beau Golden since December 2014.
Celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary in 2020, Beau posted a sweet black and white snap of the couple gazing at each other alongside a heartfelt caption.
He wrote: “Happy 6th anniversary to my best friend darling @amaligolden, what an absolute pleasure it is to be best friends with you, love you babe”.
The same year, the loved-up pair announced they were expecting their first child and welcomed daughter Juniper in February 2021.
Sharing a snap of their bundle of joy, Beau gushed: “15 days old today Juniper Catherine Ayomi Golden. Born at 12.59am on 2/2/21. She’s amazing. Love my girls @amaligolden & Juni so much, can’t deal.”
