ITV The Chase The buzz was back on ITV as The Chase: Celebrity Special made a smashing return with a star-studded episode featuring four celebs gunning for charity cash.
But things took a savage turn after Anne Hegerty made a brutal dig at host Bradley Walsh, leaving his jaw on the ground and the studio in stitches. Omid Djalili, Perri Shakes-Drayton, Dermot Murnaghan, and Susan Calman were the famous faces in the hot seat on Thursday (December 28) in the repeat episode, all hoping to score big for their chosen charities.
First player Susan wasted no time, complimenting The Governess, saying: “I just want to say, I think you’re marvellous” as she prepared to take the quizmaster on in her head to head round. Anne, clearly flattered, returned the favour before taking a shot at Bradley, saying: “Well, I’m glad you love me, and I’m sure Brad loves you back.”

Bradley couldn’t resist chiming in with a smile: “I do.” However, Anne seized the moment to land a zinger, quipping: “He loves anyone who makes him look tall.”
Susan burst into laughter, and the studio audience joined in, leaving Bradley open-mouthed and stunned by the cheeky remark. Viewers were left stunned after quizmaster Anne Hegarty made a brutal dig at host Bradley Walsh during the celebrity special, taking aim at his height.
Susan was quick to defend the expert quizzer, however, admitting she was the Chaser she wanted to face off against. “I’d like to meet Anne,” Susan admitted. “I’d like to go on a caravan holiday with her.”
The bizarre confession was met by a puzzled reaction from Bradley and moments later, her wish came true. Anne soon emerged from backstage and made her way to the table, much to the delight of Bradley and Susan.
Fans soon began demanding the spin-off on X. “Whatever happens on tonight’s #TheChase can someone please get Susan Calman and Anne Hegerty on that caravan holiday and film it?!,” said one fan.
“@ITV missing a trick if you don’t send @SusanCalman @anne_hegerty & @MMargolyes on a Gino, Fred & Gordon style road trip in a camper. Personally, I think it’d be a fkin wonderful programme to watch,” penned a second.
