ITV’s This Morning hit with technical blunder as hosts gasp as guest disappears off air

This Morning was hit with a technical blunder as they welcomed Martin Lewis onto the show.

The Money Saving Expert joined via video link as he answered calls from people alongside Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson. As one person asked him a question through the phone line, he was cut off shortly after answering.

He started to explain to one caller where they should save their inheritance, but the screen briefly went black. A shocked Holly and Josie waited for him to come back and he soon appeared back on screen and carried on.

Martin was none the wiser when he returned to the screen but heard a delayed “oh no”, and paused, before Holly and Josie told him he was “fine” and could carry on. But they were hit with a shocker when it happened again.

Holly and Josie shouted: “No!” at the screen, but as Martin came back seconds later Holly added: “Oh my God it’s like someone doesn’t want you to say that word. Martin we lost you again at the exact same moment.”

The expert looked bewildered but then took the moment to make sure he didn’t suffer yet another blunder. He rushed through his sentence and got it out without taking a breath.

Luckily, that was the end of his blunders and he didn’t have to deal with another as he answered the rest of his phone calls. Taking to social media, one user wrote: “Awkward!”, while another added: “Someone’s having fun with Martin’s WiFi.”

Martin appeared on the show to keep viewers at home a helping hand with any money troubles they may be having. He regularly appears on morning shows to talk through finances and share his money saving tips.

Particularly in the wake of the cost of living crisis, Martin has been sharing details on how to save on energy bills and any other household charges people are struggling with. While he’s often heading up TV shows, he also answers questions on his socials too.

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV.
