Jacqueline Jossa and Natalie Cassidy gush over Eastenders star’s harrowing end

EastEnders stars of past and present have come forward to praise one of their own.

On 31 May, Lola Pearce’s final scenes were aired after she succumbed to her brain tumour.

This meant that it was actress Daniella Harold’s last time to appear on the BBC soap, but her co-stars and pals all came forward to praise how well she did.

Natalie Cassidy, 40, who plays Sonia Fowler, shared a clip of Jay returning to Lola’s bedside and seeing she had passed away to her Instagram story.

She then captioned the video: “@bbceastenders I am SO PROUD. This show is OUTSTANDING. What an honour to work with these people everyday. Goodbye Lola”

Former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, who used to play Lauren Branning, also shared her pride online.

Jacqueline, 30, shared a picture of Daniella posing as Lola onto her Instagram Story and wrote: “Incredible performance throughout and from all involved.

“What a beautiful goodbye. I am so proud of this show.”

Jacqueline praised the actress

Jacqueline also commented an EastEnders Instagram post of Lola and put: “Fantastic, heart breaking rest in peace Lola x.”

This comes after EastEnders fans were left fuming after Ben Mitchell continued to make false promises to his and Lola’s daughter Lexi.

Last week, Ben told Lexi that Lola would be able to make it to her first day at school, but it was clear this wasn’t going to be true.

Viewers of the soap fumed online, with one writing: “Ben making Lexi promises he can’t keep # EastEnders “

A second added: “Lola can barely lift her head off the pillow and Ben wants her to go where? Ben is being beyond selfish. He’s not thinking of Lola. #Lola #EastEnders”

While a third penned: “Ben that was very gun ho. No gentle chat, almost angry It’s a Terrible situation when you can’t help a loved one get better. But you must care for those who are going to be left behind too #EastEnders”

“Ben’s been down this road of trying to get alternative treatment for Lola better even though it won’t do anything. It’ll only end in heartbreak like last time 🙁 #EastEnders” a fourth posted.

A fifth put: “Sorry but that scene between Lexi and Ben was selfish. Ben is in denial and cannot accept that Lola is dying and can’t accept professional help himself so he’s offering his daughter false hope. Fully proving he isn’t fit to look after Lexi #EastEnders”
