Of the dozens of films about high school escapades at house parties, the blueprint for many from the past three decades is arguably the raucous 1990 comedy, House Party.
Starring the distinctly recognisable hip hop duo, Kid ‘n Play, the movie was released 33 years ago today (9 March).
The pair, who emerged in the late 1980s, became rap pioneers by kicking off their acting careers in the House Party trilogy.

The film saw its heroes Kid (Christopher Reid) ‘n Play (Christopher Martin), attempting to plan a simple house party, which turns into one of the craziest nights of their lives.
Such was the impact of the critically acclaimed movie, it spawned two sequels and was inducted into the National Film Registry last year by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
To mark the anniversary of the film, Daily Star has taken a look at what the pair, who at the peak of their success even had their own self-titled Saturday morning cartoon, have been up to since.
The pair were originally in rival New York high school groups, the Turnout Brothers and the Super Lovers, and initially came together as a duo under the name, the Fresh Force Crew.
By 1987 they had changed their name to Kid ‘n Play. Between 1988 and 1991, they released three albums, 2 Hype, Funhouse and Face the Nation.
Outside of their work as a duo, Reid and Martin have pursued their separate interests, but have maintained a partnership that is still going strong to this day.
