Love Islander exposes grim reality of show where stars forced to use 'smelly' portaloos

Love Island ‘s Abigail Rawlings has revealed Islanders were made to use “smelly” portaloos.

The series seven star opened up exclusively to the Daily Star during an Instagram Live chat.

Explaining the stinky revelation, Abigail said: “Yeah, so I don’t know if they always do it, but because of Covid, ours was a lot more restrictive with our contact with people.

“They used to deep clean the villa and they would put tape up and we weren’t allowed in the villa while the cleaners were in there.

“And they would do that every day at midday and if anyone needed a wee, we would have to go around the back in the garden.

“It was so hot, it was like a sauna, and all the boys used it too, and it was really smelly. It depended on how desperate you needed a wee. You just have to suck it up.”

This comes after her fellow co-star Millie Court revealed this for the first time last year.

The 2021 winner chatted to Cosmopolitan about her ITV villa experience and what happens behind-the-scenes.

Millie told the publication: “The villa gets put on lockdown sometimes for up to three hours and you literally cannot go inside the villa.

“So, you have to stay in the garden so if you need a wee or a poo you have to go in a portable loo cabin thing outside the back of the villa and because it’s so hot there it literally stinks and it’s boiling.”

Abigail also explained how the shower situation would be really “stressful” as there is only one indoors unit in the building for all Islanders to share.

“If you’re the last girl in the shower on an evening, then you’re not looking good that evening,” she explained.

“You’d just be shouting ‘I’m next, I’m next’ and hope you could get in as soon as possible.”

Abigail starred on series seven of the show and entered the villa mid-way as a bombshell.

The tattoo artist, 28, didn’t find love on the show and had a “roller coaster” of a journey.
