Married at First Sight UK’s Georges teases ‘best honeymoon’ as wife Peggy storms off

Married at First Sight UK groom Georges has teased what fans can expect him his honeymoon with wife Peggy.

The pair tied the knot in front of their friends and families in recent scenes of the E4 reality show after meeting each other for the first time at the alter. After saying ‘I Do’ and getting to know each other, Peggy and Georges jet off on their first holiday – but things don’t quite go to plan.

In a teaser clip from Tuesday’s (September 26) show, the newlyweds can be seen sitting down on their balcony before Peggy gets up and storms off away from her husband. Fans will have to wait and see what happens between the couple during their time in Thailand but Georges has insisted it will be the “best honeymoon”.

Speaking to Daily Star about the upcoming episode, Georges said: “I would say we got on really well. We went to Thailand so it was a 14 hour flight. We’re chatterboxes so we were speaking for a large percentage of it. Peggy actually only watched 18 minutes of a movie so very, very interesting.

“We clearly had a good connection at the start and it was flowing. We knew there were obstacles in the way but it was about growth and understanding and working out if we were for each other. “Not everything goes to plan but put it this way, I think our honeymoon will be the best honeymoon.

“I think we will have the best honeymoon because I know we certainly had the most entertaining wedding. Everyone else had lovey dovey wedding but at least ours had a bit of humours. It wasn’t as plain sailing but it had some charm to it.”

While Peggy seemed won over by Georges upon their first impression, her sister, and many fans, weren’t convinced, particularly as he seemed more focused on his new wife’s cleavage as she walked down the aisle. However, the sports rehabilitation worker has hit back at his critics who have shared their opinion of him online during the first week of the show.

He said: “There are going people who are like ‘you’re horrible and I don’t want anything to do with you’ and then as the story progresses people will say ‘actually I quite like him’. People have different elements of growth. The first week has been interesting but I”m very thick skinned so things like that really don’t bother me. I’m very and jokey as an individual so I’m just riding the wave.

“I don’t want to give anything away but just understand that’s not all I’ve got to give. I went on there for the right reasons and I’ve always wanted to be expected for who I am and what I am and I feel it was very much me. I think the edit speaks for itself.

“You’ve got to remember the wedding day is eight hours and the backstory is four days. You got to think if they’re going to get me talking about boobs a lot in a 30 minute episode you would have to think about how far apart those conversations were.”

Married at First Sight UK airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 9pm
