Neighbours stars April Rose Pengilly and Jodi Gordon have confirmed that they would both like to return as Chloe Brennan and Elly Conway following their shock wedding day exit.
The popular couple exchanged their vows during Thursday’s (December 28) episode of the rebooted Amazon Freevee soap, which completed the Australian serial drama’s big Christmas week. Viewers watched an emotional week leading up to the big day as Chloe experienced early symptoms of Huntington’s disease.
She questioned her future with Elly amid her health concerns, wondering whether it was fair to expect Elly to look after her in the future. Although Elly was adamant that she wouldn’t abandon her relationship, her wife-to-be Chloe urged her to take some time to think before making such a major commitment.

Following heart-to-hearts with her aunt Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Elly shared her final decision and proposed to Chloe – making it clear that this was the only way it was ever going to go. Her daughter Aster (Amelia Gavin) returned for the big day and played a key role as a flower girl at the ceremony.

Chloe and Elly walked down the aisle arm-in-arm in matching white wedding suits before heading off on their honeymoon and both stars are hoping to return to their roles in the near future.
Speaking to Daily Star, Jody said: “I love coming back and I love the show. It’s so full on, your brain is going a million miles an hour and it’s physically demanding but on top of that you get to have the most incredible experiences on set, especially this Chelly storyline. It’s been incredible. I would definitely go back and do different storylines.”

April added: “As much as I agree with Jodi that it’s really gruelling, some of my absolutely best memories are sitting on set in between takes just cracking jokes with the crew, or Stefan Dennis saying something hilarious. We are a family and everybody has so much fun together.”
Despite enjoying their wedding storyline, both girls didn’t know that Chloe and Elly would be tying the knot until the first day of filming. Jodie explained: “We talked about coming back, and knew part of the storyline, but we didn’t actually know that there would be a wedding. It was so exciting and everything that I’d hoped for but I guess it was a huge surprise.

April said: “We didn’t find out until we flew down to begin filming and we went straight from the airport to the studio to do fittings and catch up with everyone before filming the next day. We pulled one of the producers aside and asked if we could find out what we were doing and they said ‘you’re getting married’. They thought we already knew but everyone was so excited.”
