Actor Michael Lerner has died aged 81.
News of the Hollywood actor’s death, who starred in blockbusters like Godzilla, Elf and Barton Fink, was shared on Sunday (April 8) via Instagram.
Michael’s cause of death is yet to be unveiled.

His heartbroken nephew, Sam Lerner, who’s also an actor, shared a heartfelt tribute to his uncle.
Sam announced about his uncle’s passing: “We lost a legend last night. It’s hard to put into words how brilliant my Uncle Michael was and how influential he was to me.
“His stories always inspired me and made me fall in love with acting.”

He added: “He was the coolest, most confident, talented guy and the fact that he was my blood will always make me feel special.”
“Everyone that knows him knows how insane he was — in the best way.
“I’m so lucky I got to spend so much time with him, and we’re all lucky we can continue to watch his work for the rest of time.”
He ended the message by writing, “RIP Michael, enjoy your unlimited Cuban cigars, comfy chairs, and endless movie marathon.”
Michael earned an Oscar nomination in 1991 for his role in Barton Fink.

The “legendary” actor also starred in several hit films, including Newsies, Harlem Nights, The Mod Squad, Celebrity, and For Richer or Poorer.
The entertainer’s career stretched back to the 70s, and he appeared in nostalgic classics like The Brady Bunch, MASH, Starsky and Hutch, and The Good Guys.
He is survived by his brother Ken Lerner, 74, who is also an actor.
Michael’s fans have since taken to social media to share their reaction to the news.
One heartbroken fan penned: “Sad news Mash alumni Michael Lerner has passed away. Thoughts and prayers to his family.”
A second wrote: “I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Michael Lerner. Condolences to the family. Rest In Peace.”
