Phillip Schofield slammed by ITV fans as he demands Prince Harry 'move on and shut up'

This Morning fans scolded Phillip Schofield after he demanded Prince Harry “move on and shut up” following the release of his tell-all memoir, Spare.

The release of the Duke of Sussex’s long-awaited book was unsurprisingly topic of conversation during Thursday’s instalment of the ITV programme.

Phil, 60, alongside co-host Holly Willoughby posed the question whether the 38-year-old will be welcome at King Charles’ coronation before speculating what is next for him.

“Is he now going to be the go-to guy to talk about being inside the royal family?,” questioned a guest before Holly immediately responded: “I don’t think he is!”

Chiming in, the Dancing on Ice presenter said: “You would hope that now the line has been drawn, you move on, you shut up and you crack on with your charity work.”

They followed up the segment on Prince Harry by urging fans to “be kind” – which didn’t sit well with fans who took to social media to slam the “irony” of the two conversations.

“Oh the irony of saying ‘be kind’ moments after slagging off Harry again #ThisMorning,” penned one viewer.

Another added: “We should be kind…” until it comes to Harry and Meghan! Bloody hypocrites. #ThisMorning.”

“Be kind, really after you trash Harry again #ThisMorning,” added a third.

Echoing these thoughts, someone else wrote: “#ThisMorning: “We should be kind” Me: *laughs in irony*.”

Gok Wan has been live from a beach in Mauritius

This comes after viewers branded the daytime programme “tone deaf” for sending stars off to lavish destinations during the cost of living crisis.

While TV duo Holly and Phil are still in the studio, travel writer Kat Farmer and wine expert Helen McGinn have been presenting segments in Switzerland.

Meanwhile fashion expert Gok Wan has been live from a beach in Mauritius.
