Queen star Brian May has revealed he’s been in talks for a sequel to smash-hit biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
The guitarist reckons there’s plenty more mileage in the band’s story. And he would love to see the same actors, including Rami Malek – who played Freddie Mercury – reprise their roles.
Brian says: “We’ve been talking about it. I felt proud of it and the people who played us were just phenomenal.

“It’s so tempting to do the sequel – it would be worth it just to work with those boys again.
“Bohemian Rhapsody climaxed in Live Aid and I suppose implicitly Freddie starting to deal with his AIDS, but an awful lot happened between the end of the film to the end of the glory days of Queen.”
The 2018 film, which also starred Gwilym Lee as Brian, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor and Joe Mazzello as John Deacon, charted Freddie’s early days through to forming Queen, their success and the subsequent strained relationships between the band.
Brian, says: “I loved the fact we were able to do it for Freddie. That really means a lot and I felt we did it in the right way, and in the right spirit.
“Of course we were represented in the movie because we were a group, but it was really all about Freddie, and I think we did him good.”
The 75-year-old has also been in discussions about putting on a Live Aid-style concert to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, which have claimed more than 45,000 lives.
“It is on our radar,” says Brian. “It is something which has been talked about a lot and it’s something that needs to be done right. So yes, it is a possibility.”
Brian also reveals he’s become best friends with Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick after the pair bonded over his famous love of animals.
The guitar ace is a prominent campaigner against fox hunting and badger culling, and he runs a wildlife rescue centre.
“He’s become a wonderful friend – he’s one of my very best friends,” says Brian. “It came to the point where we were asking for his help. Most vets won’t deal with wild animals, but he does.
“He’s been great and his whole ethos is every animal matters, and that’s the way we are.”
Brian also learned he had been an inspiration to a young Noel, who was at a concert Queen played at Ireland’s Slane Castle in 1986.
He reveals: “He’d been told he would never succeed and never be a vet. And he said, ‘I saw you guys onstage at Slane, and I said, those guys have fulfilled their dream – I can fulfil mine.’”
Next up for Brian is receiving his knighthood on March 14. And the new Sir is thrilled wife Anita Dobson will also be getting a new title.
