Rochelle Humes gives Andi Peters a cheeky smack as ‘payback’ on This Morning host

Andi Peters was left flabbergasted in This Morning’s opening segment as Rochelle Humes appeared to get frustrated with him and gave him a little smack.

Everything appeared to be running smoothly in the ITV studio on Thursday (August 31), as the morning hosts had a brief catch up chat.

Andi was participating in small talk after Rochelle had asked him about how he had been doing, disclosing he’d had lunch with friends and that he had received a vaccination in his arm.

The 53-year-old’s confession about his jab prompted Rochelle to ask him: “How’s you arm?”

And just as Andi was about to answer, his 34-year-old co-host promptly hit him in the arm, completely throwing him off.

“Christmas ? It’s August, what is wrong with you,” a viewer complained

“Ow!” the chirpy competition host blurted out, before demanding in total disbelief: “Did you really just do that?”

To which Rochelle responded: “Yeah I did, and you know why I did?”

As Andi clarified he had no clue as to why his colleague had thrown a blow at his arm, the former The Saturdays member explained: “Almost two weeks of Saturdays jokes, almost two weeks of the studio being freezing, so I just felt, you know.”

“Wow, payback,” the ITV star responded.

The Morning hosts did not appear to loom over the awkward exchange, as they both burst out in laughter.

Andi concluded the comical discourse as he joked: “Is there a doctor in the house?”

“Put more clothes on if you’re freezing Rochelle!” a viewer wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), following This Morning’s opening segment.

However, other viewers seemed to be more concerned with the announcement of Bryony Blake presenting festive food and decorations, with 116 days to go still before Christmas.

Among many who were fuming over the segment on X, one wrote: “Christmas? It’s August, what is wrong with you people?”

“Oh dear God… this year’s going by so quickly,” another person wrote.
