Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his ex Cassie have settled their lawsuit “amicably”.
A lawsuit was filed by the singer, real name Cassandra Ventura, claimed that the rapper had abused her for years starting when she was aged 19. Court documents state that the Me and U hitmaker experienced abuse at the hands of the music producer, who she signed with back in 2005.
The settlement was announced on Friday (November 18) by Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, who said the deal was to both parties’ “mutual satisfaction” but did not disclose any terms. Both Cassie and Diddy have since released statements saying the deal was “amicably” reached, with Diddy wishing “Cassie and her family all the best.”

Model Cassie said, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.” Diddy similarly said, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
Cassie, now 37, has accused Diddy, 54, of being “prone to uncontrollable rage” and subjecting her to numerous “savage” beatings where he punched, kicked and stomped on her, forcing her to take drugs and have sex with other men as he watched and masturbated.
In 2018, Cassie tried to end the relationship, but she alleges that he raped her after forcing her into his Los Angeles home. The complaint reads: “When she believed that she had finally separated from her long-time abuser, she joined Mr. Combs for a dinner, after which he forced her into his home and raped her while she repeatedly said ‘no’ and tried to push him away.”
The court filing from Thursday suggests that there was a “power imbalance” between the couple as well since Diddy was her boss and was over “two decades her senior.” And, she considered him “one of the most powerful men in the entertainment industry.”
In a statement to The New York Times, Cassie said: “After years of silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.” Ben Brafman, Diddy’s lawyer, stated on Thursday: “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”
He also said: “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.
“Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”
