Strictly bosses ‘tighten security after obsessed fans turn up at dancers’ homes’

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have reportedly been forced to up their level of security after “obsessed” fans reportedly turned up at the homes of two stars.

Professional dancers Dianne Buswell and Nadiya Bychkova have both allegedly encountered “overzealous” admirers who turned up unexpectedly at their home addresses.

According to recent reports, it is understood that both stars did not call the police, however, concerns were increased after threats were sent to Jowita Przystal following her link to fellow dancer Giovanni Pernice.

Due to this, BBC bosses have reportedly stepped in to increase the security at both Elstree Studios and a hotel used by the show’s cast members.

Sharing further insight, a source told the Mirror: “Some of the pro dancers have been targeted by some very overzealous fans, who are often at the studio gates and outside the hotel.

“But some have been managing to track down dancers’ addresses and turning up or sending gifts.

“The intrusion is horrible for them. Recently, Nadiya had a fan turn up at her home, and Dianne had the same happen to her before she moved house in July.

“Both of them found the intrusions quite disturbing and they were left very upset. So it was reassuring for them, and everyone else, to learn that the security was to be beefed up.”

In addition to this, the insider also said pro dancer Jowita, who won last year’s competition alongside Hamza Yassin, was upset by threats sent to her about her private life.

Jowita reportedly received hurtful letters after it emerged she had become close to co-star Giovanni while rehearsing for last year’s series.

A source claimed Jowita was found the situation “deeply unfair as she had done nothing wrong”.

In December last year, news broke that the pair had fallen for each other – however, things didn’t last and they later called it quits in March this year.

Earlier this year, head judge Shirly Ballas told The Mirror that she had been brought “to an all-time low” during last year’s series by hate-filled messages that she received from trolls.
