The Chase makes history with highest money offer ever as player left speechless

Paul Sinha made ITV history after offering the largest sum of money ever on the latest episode of The Chase.

Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players into the studio who put their general knowledge to the test in the hopes of winning a hefty cash prize.

The final player to face the Sinnerman was Myles, who watched as just two of his co-stars had made it through to the final chase.

After being previously “taunted” by Paul, 53, Myles admitted he didn’t think he’d be tempted by the high offer, but that all changed after heading to the table with £6,000.

As the offers appeared, Paul said to Myles: “I taunted you a little bit earlier that you wouldn’t go high. What if you got the highest offer we’ve ever offered on a daytime show of £109,000.”

While his co-stars suggested he should stick with the £6,000, Myles had other ideas and it’s clear Bradley agreed as he quipped: “Complete no brainer.”

“I didn’t think I’d go for the higher offer,” he explained. “But it’s a six-figure sum. It’s got to be the 109.”

“You’ve got to!” exclaimed the former Coronation Street star, adding Myles has nothing to lose at 26-years-old.

Bradley shook his hand in admiration before Paul chipped in: “I have no idea what’s about to happen next but by taking that offer you’ve made history, whatever happens.”

Unfortunately for Myles, he was caught by the chaser when he was still three from home.

Despite the loss, Bradley reassured him that he made the right decision taking the higher offer while Paul gave him a round of applause for the performance.

“I think just going for it shows a lot about you,” the presenter said. “You absolutely 100 percent chose the right amount.

He added: “Despite not getting through, you have to go for it!”

It was John and Anna who made it through to the final chase, scoring a total of 16 points in two minutes.

But it wasn’t meant to be as Paul caught the pair with 26 seconds remaining.
