Faber was perhaps best known for his role as Chuck in the classic 1973 horror movie The Exorcist.

The movie became an instant hit and a cult classic, and during the film Faber delivered one of the most iconic lines in all of cinema.

Chuck informed Ellen Burstyn’s character Chris MacNeil that film director Burke Dennings had been found dead.

The star said: “I supposed you’ve heard. You haven’t heard? Burke’s dead. He must have been drunk. He fell down from the top of the steps right outside. By the time he hit M Street he broke his neck.”

At this moment in the movie, only Regan MacNeil knew that the director had been killed by the iconic demon.

Ron had previously spoken to Coming Soon about the film back in 2006 and praised director William Friedkin for the way he shot the blockbuster.

He said: “He gave it a tremendous amount of realism and an almost documentarian look at this thing that was happening to this little girl and her mother and everyone around them.”

Aside from his iconic performance in The Exorcist, Faber starred in a number of other films including The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover.

Faber also starred alongside Charlie Sheen and The Terminator actor Michael Biehn for the military movie Navy SEALS, which was released in 1990.

Away from the silver screen, Faber also landed a role in Law and Order, as well as Kojak back in the 70s.
