Adele fans seething as eye-watering ticket prices to see iconic singer released

Fans of iconic singer Adele have slammed her after it was revealed she was charging almost a grand to see her perform.

The Oh My God singer, 35, is set to embark on a new set of tour dates in Europe after a cryptic announcement on her social media platforms. It was then revealed that she would be taking up a 10-night residency in Germany, much to the delight of her European fans.

But the adoration from fans soon soured when Adele’s team gave an idea as to how much money they would be expected to shelf out for a ticket. Affordable tickets for the purpose-built arena would set the gig goer back just £60.

However, as they were a reasonable price, the cheap tickets were snapped up in a matter of seconds. This then left the most costly areas up for grabs, with some seats starting at a tough £280 per ticket.

The most expensive tickets – which guarantee fans the best seats in the house for the show – will cost a whopping £984. As a result, some fans were unable to get themselves a spot at the hall in Munich, as the cost of the tickets was just too high for them to fork out the funds.

As many as 270,000 people were said to have been patiently waiting in queues to grab tickets for the shows that will take place later this year. Within minutes, however, all the tickets were gone as thousands scrambled to grab a chance at seeing the legendary singer perform.

Lisa Bale, an Adele fan from Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire told The Sun that she was blown away at the cost of the tickets, after having first seen Adele in 2011, shelfing out less than £30 for the pleasure. She explained: “After pre-registering and enduring a queue of nearly 200,000 people, I was excited to finally get my turn.

“But all the cheap seats were gone and the remaining tickets were priced at just over £300 — which I found way too steep,” Lisa continued. I logged off, feeling like she’s gotten a bit greedy – I’m a huge fan and think she’s wonderful but just can’t justify spending that.”

Adele will perform her residency in Munich in August, just two months after her extended stint in Las Vegas ends in June. The dates will be the first she has embarked on a European tour since her last album cycle in 2016.

Initially, Adele had only signed up for six dates at the Open Air Arena in Messe München, but due to the overwhelming demand for tickets, she agreed to add an extra four dates to the list. Speaking about her decision to do a residency in Europe, she explained that she was intrigued at the idea of a brand new stadium to welcome thousands of fans.

“I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans,” she said. “However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea — a one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on?

“Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!” she finished.

Mum-of-one Adele is still on the road promoting her new album on music, titled ’30’, which released in 2021. The collection of music, which reflects on her divorce and moving on with life, landed her Album of the Year at the 2022 Brit Awards.
