Angelina Jolie admitted she nearly cut her nude bathtub scene in her 2015 film By the Sea.
The 48-year-old Hollywood star directed the romantic flick, where she also played her ex Brad Pitt’s on-screen lover. However, she considered getting rid of the full frontal bath scene because her breasts had been removed.
The Oscar-winning actress had her boobs removed in 2013. She bravely got a double masectomy after tests revealed she had a high change of developing breast cancer.

The star was seemingly uncomfortable with the full frontal shot but decided to keep it for the sake of the film. She believed removing it would have been “cheating”.
“There were lots of scenes I wanted to change or cut,” she told the New York Times. “I realised it was going to be me [naked] in that bathtub. But I told myself, put all of that aside.
“Like, you can’t change or cut this scene because you’ve had a mastectomy, or because we’re [Brad Pitt and I] are married and people are going to analyse this or that. That would be cheating.”
The Tomb Raider pin-up admitted directing the saucy flick was tough as she had to orchestrate sex scenes with her then-husband Pitt. And Jolie’s character Vanessa was “vulnerable”. so she had to ensure she was stepping into the character during the intimate scenes.
“The duality – being a director, then having to become a person that vulnerable – would often be hard. There’s a whole reel of me calling ‘cut!’ If a doctor saw it, I’d be put on medication.
“I’m hysterically crying and then calling ‘cut!’ or during a sex scene I am calling ‘cut!’ on Brad. You had to laugh at how bizarre it was.”
Angelina filed for divorce from Brad in September 2016 and the divorce was finalised in 2019. But a bitter dispute over custody began in 2020 and ended with Brad getting joint custody of their five youngest children.
