BBC Breakfast turned a little awkward when Carol Kirkwood forgot a BBC host’s name.
On Thursday (March 28), Carol had just wrapped her weather segment when she made the mistake. As she signed off, Carol said thanks to “Ben and…. Naga!” It was clear the weather reporter had forgotten the host’s name in the moment.
Naga Munchetty was not happy with this and clapped back in her typical witty manner. She said: “Oh you remembered… Well done!”

Carol then awkwardly laughed: “How could I forget?” Naga then turned to her co-star Ben Thompson and said: ” She’s of no importance Ben, she’s of none, she’s just the showgirl.
“Write in on your hand next time Carol. Write it on your hand it always helps,” she quipped whilst pretending to act annoyed.
Brushing off the situation, Carol said: “If only my eyesight was better I could write it on the screen in front of me.” But Naga wasn’t finished yet.
She added: “I thought you were going to say if only you can write.” Gasping in shock at her insult, Carol had no words for the host after her savage remark.
Ben looked rather awkward and said: “This has descended very quickly.” Before adding: “Will have to keep you apart.” This isn’t the first time Carol and Naga have bantered on screen, and viewers often laugh at their playful friendship.
This come after Ben had to fill in Charlie Stayt’s shoes, as he wasn’t in his usual presenting spot. Charlie usually presents the BBC show alongside Naga every Thursday to Saturday – but was missing today.
Ben had stepped in as his replacement on the show – with no explanation as to where Charlie was. This was the second time Ben stood in for a host this week, after taking over Jon Kay’s spot on Monday.
