Below Deck fans excited as unseen cast member finally appears at Captain Sandy’s wedding

Below Deck fans can’t believe the mysterious Norma is real after finally getting a glimpse of her.

Norma has long been a part of the reality TV show but nobody ever claps eyes on her. She is the person who Captain Sandy calls on when she needs new crew members if someone has been fired or left, but as she is never on camera, there have been whisperings about her not even being a real person.

However, everything changed in Below Deck Mediterranean’s ninth season finale, when Norma made a brief – but exciting – appearance. The final instalment saw Sandy pop the question to love interest Leah Shafer then flashed forward to give eager fans a peek at their wedding.

Plenty of familiar faces could be seen at the celebration, along with one not so familiar face – crew placement whizz Norma. Fans of the long running reality show were thrilled to see her, saying it was the best surprise as the latest series wrapped.

“I literally yelled out NORMA!!” one excited fan wrote on Reddit after the big reveal. “I had to rewind to fully appreciate her,” said someone else.

“After all these years! Norma!!” exclaimed one satisfied viewer, as another declared that the sighting was the “best part of the episode”. “I was like holy s***, she’s real,” another fan confessed. “I legit thought Norma was a made up person,” agreed someone else.

One Below Deck fan declared that seeing Norma on screen at last was “THE highlight of the season”. Another viewer posted on X: “OK wait did all the Below Deck real fans scream when they saw NORMA at Cap Sandy’s wedding lmao!!!!! In the flesh!!!!!”

“This was my surprise of the season,” commented another person on the platform. “I never thought that we’d meet NORMA!”

However, others were still not totally sure that the Norma on TV was really who the Captain texts. “I’m still convinced that this is a random producer and Norma doesn’t exist lol,” said one fan. “Nah, she’s not real,” insisted another. “This is a Norma plant!”

Below Deck started in 2013, focusing on crew members on a superyacht. It has spawned several spin-offs, including Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Adventure.
