One of Big Brother ‘s most well-known contestants has welcomed his second baby into the world with his partner.
Brian Dowling teared up with joy as he announced that he and partner Arthur Gourounlian had brought a second child into the world together. The pair beamed that they were “absolutely besotted” with their little bundle of joy.
The presenter, 46, who won the second series of Big Brother in 2001, announced that he and Arthur, 44, were going to be having another baby. Things were also being kept in the family as Brian’s younger sister Aoife, 35, valiantly volunteered to be their surrogate.

This, however, was not the first time that Aoife had agreed to be a surrogate for her older brother. The couple’s previous child Blake – now aged one – was also carried by Aoife in another act of selflessness.

In a touching post shared to his Instagram profile, Brian and Arthur announced their new baby’s birth. Despite the high emotions, the pair were able to also share the rather unique name they had gifted to their new child.
“Please be upstanding for the arrival of our BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER, Blu Amar Rose Dowling Gourounlian,” Brian penned in the caption. The pair went on to say: “Aoife, you are a SUPERSTAR & we are, as always, FOREVER GRATEFUL.”
Adding to their tribute to Brian’s sister, the couple said: “You stayed so calm, considering it wasn’t exactly the birth plan we had initially hoped for. Baby Blu was adamant to arrive on Sunday, the 23rd of June & nothing or no one was going to stop her – big sister Blake, you have been activated.”

In one touching snap, both Arthur and Brian are seen in medical scrubs cuddling their new arrival, with Brian in tears of joy as he gave his love to baby Blu. Arthur beamed with smiles as he gently played with her finger, leaving fans sobbing with happiness.
Many fans were quick to congratulate the pair on their new arrival. Of these, The Saturdays star Una Healy was one of the first to offer a message of love, writing: “Congratulations to you all!” followed love heart emoji.
Similarly, Irish presenter Síle Seoige added: “Huge congratulations to you all,” followed by a white heart emoji. Whilst This Morning star and chef Donal Skehan gave his own personal tribute to the couple.

“WAHEY!” he wrote, “Huge congrats to you both and go on Aoife! Cannot wait to meet the latest addition – loads of love!!!”
Brian and Arthur’s family has been growing since the pair first tied the knot in 2015. Since then, the couple have already had one child together – Blake – with the duo saying they “can’t believe how lucky we are” at the announcement of their second baby Blu.
