Bobby Brazier has joked that he “thrived” on the fact older women took to him on Strictly.
The 21-year-old – son of late Big Brother legend Jade Goody – took a twirl around the dancefloor on the BBC ballroom show last year, with him and his pro partner Dianne Buswell ending as runners-up behind winners Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola. He was a huge hit with viewers and has now told MailOnline that he loves that the ladies admired his swivelling hips.
Discussing his Strictly experience, Bobby confessed that he “spent lots of money” and quipped: “I did see that a lot of older ladies liked my hips and I loved that and thrived on [that] so that’s cool.”

Bobby also revealed he just took the Strictly journey as it came, saying that “nothing really changes” and that “there’s what everyone sees and then there’s your life and I’m too invested in my own life to get wrapped up in what everyone else says and is talking about”.
The EastEnders actor has also recently said his own experience on the show was “great” and “everything I wanted it to be”, speaking amid a slew of bad publicity that has seen pros Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima both leave.
“[Me and Diane would] bicker here and there but we’d laugh it was just a real balance,” he told the Mail. “It was real, you spend so much time with someone doing something you’ve never done, that’s really hard in a competition… so it’s never going to be completely one thing. I was so grateful it was everything to such an intense extent.”
Strictly’s crisis mounted after Amanda Abbington dropped out of the 2023 series early and later suggested her pro partner Giovanni’s behaviour was “unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean”. He has previously denied the allegations against him and has made it clear that he looks forward to clearing his name, but has now exited the show.
Graziano left after claims he had kicked celebrity dance partner Zara McDermott during rehearsals last year, and his spokesman told the BBC: “He knows he’s made a mistake. He apologised at the time.” He has now spoken out about the allegations, telling the Mail he was “not an abusive man”. “These vile, false allegations ruined my life in a matter of minutes – professionally, financially, psychologically and reputationally,” he said.
Graziano said he’d been going back and forward “trying to think of something that happened all those months ago that I can’t figure out”. He said: “The only thing I can think of is the time I kicked the floor in frustration… I wasn’t meaning to kick her. I’d never, never do that. My foot brushed her after I kicked the floor. Afterwards, I hugged her and said I was sorry.”
