Britain’s Got Talent host Ant McPartlin ‘anxious’ ahead of birth of first child

Ant McPartlin looks anxious and “every inch the first-time dad” ahead of the birth of his first child, a body language expert has claimed.

The TV presenter is expecting a baby with his wife Anne-Marie – which will be his first child and her third. They were spotted out for lunch in London this week and were all smiles as they dined with pals Jamie Redknapp and his wife Frida Andersson.

But according to the Daily Record, expert Judi James may have picked up on some pre-baby jitters from the Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent star in the way he was looking after his pregnant wife.

She noted that Anne-Marie, who Ant married in 2021, looked “relaxed and happy” but also calm as they ambled along together. But she noted that Ant was being protective and was towing the expectant mum along as if she was a previous Ming vase.

“Ant looks every inch the first-time dad here though,” she said. “Walking slightly ahead of Anne-Marie he holds her hand but not in the kind of mutual clasp that is the usual signal of bonding and affection.”

She also noted how in some of the snaps Ant could be seen sweetly looking at his wife’s baby bump. “His facial expression suggests some levels of anxiety although when he turns to look down at the bump the grin that appears suggests not only pride and excitement but he also seems to be communicating with the baby already here,” Judi said.

Rumours that Anne-Marie was expecting a baby with Ant started swirling earlier this year. Britain’s Got Talent presenter Ant hasn’t said too much on the subject, although in a recent interview he did speak of himself as being a dad.

Fault magazine had asked Ant and presenting partner Dec what was in store for them next, after they revealed they were resting Saturday Night Takeaway. He replied: “A lot, we do the show and then Britain’s Got Talent, but on a more personal level, part of the reason we’re pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family.

“We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit. We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now.”
