Corrie’s Dylan Wilson actor Liam McCheyne has gushed over his on-screen pal Sydney Martin, who stars as Betsy Swain in the hit ITV soap. The pair were snapped having a ball at a cast member’s birthday bash held at 8 Manchester, with Liam sporting chic casual wear and Sydney looking fab in autumnal attire.
The two appeared in high spirits, celebrating fellow actress Elle Mulvaney’s 22nd birthday.
Liam was also snapped posing with Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton, both donning trendy outfits for the occasion. Cait looked striking in a black leather skirt and a cream sweater thrown off-one-shoulder, while Liam kept it smart-casual in dark attire.
Sydney stood out herself, rocking a khaki jumper with her blonde tresses free-flowing, complemented by a statement black pouffy skirt and stylish knee-high boots, accessorising with a slick leather bag.
On social media, the affection between Liam and Sydney was palpable as she commented “My beauties!” on his post. On one of her posts, Liam declared his adoration with a heartfelt “Love love love!”
Their Corrie colleagues didn’t shy away from joining the love-fest, with Elle exclaiming, “Oh this ateee!” and Vicky Myers, who plays Sydney’s on-screen mum Lisa Swain, dropping a “Gorgeous xx,” reports the Liverpool Echo.
This news emerges mere weeks after Liam’s hospitalisation due to an unspecified health concern. On X, in early August, he expressed: “Morning shout out to our amazing NHS. Especially all those at the Royal Oldham who took superb care of me over the past two days. What a mess we would be in without them.”
Initially, Liam shared his Coronation Street role with his twin brother Connor, who has since transitioned to a career in professional cricket, stepping away from the entertainment industry. Liam, on the other hand, returned to the role of Dylan in 2022 following a lengthy hiatus.
In addition to his work on Coronation Street, Liam has made appearances in a variety of productions, including All Creatures Great and Small, ITV’s The Bay, and Last Tango in Halifax, where he portrayed the character Harrison. Since his debut in 2011, he has been featured in over 100 episodes of Coronation Street.
