Countryfile star Adam Henson has sparked fear among the BBC show’s viewers after they noticed a mark on his face.
In Easter Sunday’s instalment, 58-year-old Adam was busy looking into a deadly livestock disease that has affected his own flock of sheep and countless more across the UK. “The Schmallenberg virus spread by midges has been found across British farms,” Adam explained.
“It can affect several livestock species, including sheep, cattle, and goats, and has devastating consequences for pregnancies in the animals, causing fetal deformities and stillbirths.” It was during the segment, however, that fans spotted the worrying sign.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) during the broadcast, one viewer asked: “I missed the start of today’s programme what has poor Adam done to his face?”

Another wrote: “Has Adam been kicked in the face by a rare breed #Countryfile.” And a third said: “Adam looks like he’s developed a birthmark on his right cheek since his last appearance!”
Adam previously underwent a hip operation that had plagued him for five years. At the time he told fans that recovering from his operation had been a lot slower and more painful than he first anticipated, leaving him sympathising with other farmers.

“I’ve never really had surgery quite like this before, it does make me feel for all those people that have gone through things an awful lot worse,” he said. “It’s made me think and reflect, how do farmers get over injury or illness?”
Elsewhere on the show, meanwhile, Adam went on to explain that one of his sheep had recently given birth to a stillborn who had the Schmallenberg virus. It prompted to viewers to take to X once more, who hit out at the show’s content and its presenting team.

“Every week!!!” one user cursed. “Everything is due to climate change… A once great programme is just a @bbc propaganda nonsense. Why don’t they look at the raw sewage pumped into rivers & seas with the blessing of the government… #Countryfile.”
Another ranted: “Today’s #Countryfile is a special Very Young CBeebies edition, where every item is being presented in the most babyish voices & language, from sickly squeeing [sic] over beavers, to the woman who just described her germination work as making baby trees.” And a third hit out: “@BBCCountryfile you bring the wonderful sound of the dawn chorus to life. Then let Matt Baker talk all over it.”
