Dancing on Ice star Colin Grafton has sent out a worrying message on social media.
The ice dancer was skating with Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney until they got the boot from the ITV competition last month. Now, Colin, who comes from the USA, has hit a bit of a snag.
He’s been told to pack up and leave his rented pad because of some safety worries. So, he’s gone X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask for a hand.

His message was: “Hello @Airbnb_uk I sincerely need your help. I have been asked to vacate my current airbnb rental on a ‘safety concern’, but am not getting any help on what to do next. I am currently in the midst of #DancingOnIce and now have nowhere to stay. Please help.”
Colin’s no stranger to the ice rink, having shown off his moves at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships before. And Claire, who’s 52 and known for her soap opera roles, called him “relentless” while they were dancing together on the telly. She was one of the twelve stars trying to win the sixteenth season of Dancing On Ice on ITV.
On This Morning, Claire stated her skating partner didn’t let her have a loo break while they practiced on the ice. She shared: “He’s very patient Colin. He is lovely and so patient and kind. He is relentless though. He doesn’t give me a minute. Even when I want to shoot to the toilet he’s looking at me going ‘You’re lying.’ And I am a bit, but…”
Claire and Colin were voted off the show earlier this month. But, just before their first live performance, Colin faced a hidden family tragedy. He was in tears before stepping onto the rink with Claire after an emotional chat with his family. Colin’s dad Roy suffered an unexpected stroke in January.
Colin’s family were worried if Roy could walk or talk again. After the stroke, Roy underwent two brain operations. Reports say Claire was “incredibly supportive” of Colin when he heard the news. That night, Colin and Claire didn’t dance but they did appear on the show.
A telly source revealed to The Sun: “On the night of the first show of Dancing on Ice, Colin’s mum called him and to his surprise his dad was able to construct a few words and communicate to Claire and Colin to have a good show, saying ‘go get it’. This was very emotional for Claire and Colin before the show, bringing tears to all, and the wardrobe who was getting them in the dressing room.
It was just moments before the first live show, which thankfully they were not competing in.” After his dad suffered a stroke, Colin posted a photo of his father on social media. Along with the picture, he penned: “Love you Dad! You’re a fighter. Xo”
