Eamonn Holmes clashed with his GB News co-host Isabel Webster as they discussed Phillip Schofield’s TV comeback.
Schofe has returned in Channel 5’s Cast Away, over a year after a scandal in which he left This Morning and admitted to having an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague at ITV. Eamonn has made his feelings on Phillip clear, ranting about him on GB News ahead of his comeback and fessing up to being “one of the people who threw him under the bus”.
Phillip was a hot topic on GB News again this morning (1 October) after the start of Cast Away, which sees Phil marooned on a desert island as he aims to tell his side of the story. Things got heated as Isabel pointed out that Phil “wasn’t convicted of any crimes”.

“He said his relationship was ill-advised but not illegal,” she said, but Eamonn jumped in and demanded: “Why is that even relevant?” “He met the boy when he was 15, so why do you keep on pushing that?” he said.
“He hasn’t been convicted of anything Eamonn,” Isabel explained. “It’s a fact. Sticking with the facts.” “I know he hasn’t been convicted of any crimes,” she added.
When the scandal emerged last year, it was reported that the ITV employee Phillip who went on to have a relationship with was 15 when they first met, when the star gave a talk at a theatre school. However, lawyers confirmed that the relationship started years later when the man was working at ITV as an adult.
Eamonn has been outspoken about his former This Morning colleague, and when it emerged that Phillip had accused former colleagues of chucking him under a bus, he was quick to speak up.
Talking about his time at ITV during Cast Away, Phillip said: “And the people who did it to me, know, they know how important that building was to me. They know that when you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bloody good reason to do it.”
“Brand, ambition is not good enough,” he said. “It’s not a good enough reason to throw someone under a bus.”
Eamonn stormed on GB News: “I believe he is where he deserves to be.” And he suggested that he could be one of those his former co-worker was referring to. “I am one of the people who threw him under the bus, I am very proud to have done it,” he said.
“This man is addicted to fame. Absolutely addicted to fame.”
