EastEnders chaos as distressing nightclub crush leaves several residents in danger

EastEnders will air distressing scenes next week as Penny Branning’s debut club night at Peggy’s goes horrifyingly wrong. As lives hang in the balance, one Walford resident feels guilty for causing the disaster.

As fans of the BBC One soap will know, Penny (played by Kitty Castledine) bagged the job of managing Peggy’s when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) caught Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) drinking on the job.

Penny refused to give Chelsea her management role back as she promised her boss Phil to launch successful club nights at the bar. But when Penny’s big club night arrives next week, she is unprepared and tries to flog some last-minute tickets.

Chelsea sees an opportunity to get revenge and decides to sabotage her rival. Despite the venue being at almost full capacity, Chelsea meddles with the booking system and puts more tickets on sale online.

Elsewhere, in The Queen Vic, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) tells Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) that estranged wife Denise (Diane Parish) has started finalising their divorce proceedings.

Meanwhile, Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) manages to convince her brother Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) to gatecrash the carnival party at Peggy’s.

But Penny is completely oblivious to Chelsea’s revenge plot and continues to try and bring in more customers, but before long chaos ensues when Peggy’s becomes dangerously overcrowded.

There is havoc at the nightclub and with too many people inside a crush intensifies. But did underage teenagers Avani, Nugget and Amy make it inside the party?

Later, Penny and Amy’s dad Jack arrives at Peggy’s and is distraught as to see the aftermath of the crush. But will his daughter’s make it out alive?

As lives are at risk, a guilty Chelsea worries as she is questioned on her role in events by the police, but will she own up to causing the crush?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
