EastEnders fans spotted a blunder as they “worked out” Whitney’s exit.
At the end of Wednesday’s episode (March 27) of the BBC soap, Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) overheard Whitney (Shona McGarty) speaking to her social worker on the phone. Lauren heard Whitney explained how now wasn’t the right time to be fostering, leaving her baffled as she brought Britney home claiming to be her temporary foster mum.
After Lauren threatened to tell Zack (James Farrar) that she was hiding something, Whitney admitted that she paid Britney’s mum and took the youngster illegally. During Thursday’s episode (March 28), Whitney confessed that she paid Britney’s mum £2,000.

Fans of the soap immediately questioned where Whitney found this money from as they took to social media to comment on the blunder. One wrote: “Whitney gave Brittany’s mum 2k! Where’d she get that money from?!”

Another asked: “Where did Whitney get £2k from? If that was her money she should have saved it for the baby?”
A third agreed: “Where the heck does Whitney get all her money from… She runs a crappy clothes stall but she’s shelling out £2k for a kid, going on shopping sprees and paying for Penny to man her stall.”

Lauren blasted Whitney for the decision, pointing out it could land her in prison. With Whitney’s exit likely taking place in the next few months, fans have questioned whether she could end up behind bars for housing Britney illegally.
Viewers have been speculating how the character could bid farewell to Albert Square since Shona confirmed she was leaving the soap, but admitted they “didn’t see this coming.” One wrote: “A potential prison exit on the cards for Whitney if this backfires on her. Didn’t see that one coming at all.”

A second shared: “Also, if something happens to Britany’s mum say she dies and people come looking for her, Whitney could get done for kidnap and extortion.” Another speculated: “Imagine Whitney gets imprisoned for human trafficking before ben does.”
