An Emmerdale resident is set to be out of a job following the revelation of some heartbreaking abuse.
Soap villain Tom King, played by James Chase, has been tormenting and manipulating his wife Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper, for months. She finally ended their marriage after seeing his ‘true’ nature and recently reported him to the police.
However, Tom hasn’t shown any signs of letting her go, resorting to desperate measures such as installing cameras in her home and software on her laptop to monitor her every move.
To make matters worse, the twisted character stooped to a new low when he seemed to kill her beloved dog Piper, leaving Belle heartbroken. In recent episodes, it was revealed that Tom is now dating Amelia, played by Daisy Campbell, which left Belle terrified for her.
Last week, Belle confided in Charity, played by Emma Atkins, about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Tom. The emotions ran high as Charity relayed Belle’s painful experience to her brother Cain, played by Jeff Hordley, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Charity shared with Cain that Belle had been physically and mentally abused by Tom and no one had noticed. Enraged, Cain wanted to confront Tom immediately.
However, under strict orders from Belle, Charity pleaded with him not to. At the end of the episode, Cain encountered Tom on Main Street and although no words were exchanged, the sudden hostility made Tom suspect something was amiss.
This week, the infamous village is abuzz with news of Tom’s wicked deeds. Aware that the Dingles are onto him, Tom initiates a frantic cover-up, concealing his stalking evidence.
However, as the truth about Tom circulates around the village, surgery bosses Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) decide to give him the boot from the vet’s practice. The plot thickens when Tom mysteriously vanishes from the village without a trace. Could this be the end for Tom?
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
