Angel Strawbridge has come out to defend herself as she broke her silence on claims regarding her behaviour on her Channel 4 show.
The Escape to the Chateau star, 45, was hit with allegations that she had acted poorly behind the scenes of her show, which became a hit for the broadcaster. Together with husband Dick, the pair have now had ties cut from Channel 4 and an investigation into their behaviour is underway.
No specific details regarding the nature of the complaints has been made public as yet. However, according to sources, the couple – who ran and renovated the luxurious French castle – often butted heads with the crew of the show, leading to full-blown rows on set.

Recordings of a woman, who is believed to be Angel, were released in which the woman branded a member of the production crew a “f****d up little c**t”. Similarly at the same time, insiders close to the show had claimed to MailOnline that the duo had “spiky and volatile” personalities, which only added to the conflict.
Breaking her silence on the matter, Angel came forward after the incidents went public to say that she wished things between her, Dick and the production crew were different. However, she stopped short of apologising, saying that she would not do so.
She also admitted that at the time, she was caught in the anger of the moment when she rowed with a member of the crew. The former Channel 4 presenter explained to Elizabeth Day on her How to Fail podcast: “I was the one in the wrong for losing my temper, but do you know what, I will not apologise – he was so disrespectful in our house, he was so upsetting to me, my family, and I stand by what I did.”
She continued: “If I was to apologise and say ‘I’m sorry for using bad language and chucking you out’, I would just be disingenuous to me. Would I like to erase that? Yeah, I’d love to.”
But Angel also said that she would have removed the circumstances that led to the argument happening in the first place. She explained that the incident was “provoked” and therefore, she felt no guilt on what happened, but rather wished it did not happen at all.
The findings of the investigation that resulted from the altercations have not been publicly released; however, it did see the end of the pair’s working relationship with the broadcaster. In a statement released to the Mirror, Channel 4 said they had “taken the decision” to not work with Dick and Angel again.
Escape to the Chateau was regularly broadcast on Channel 4’s sister channel More 4, drawing in millions of regular viewers as Dick and Angel renovated a dilapidated French castle and reopened it to the public. The show ran from 2016, before the final season ended in December 2022.
