The news of the show’s return had plenty of people talking – including star Joanna Page’s Loose Women colleagues. The ITV show returned for another episode on Friday (May 3).

And as expected, Gavin and Stacey’s return was a hot topic. Especially as weeks before, both the show’s stars Joanna and Larry Lamb appeared on Loose Women where they shut down any chance of a return.

On Loose Women on Friday (May 3) the show played a clip of the pair denying the show was coming back. Going to the studio, host Kaye Adams said: “You little lair.” She then revealed that the show had a statement from Joanna.

Kaye said: “She said she is very excited about the return of the show and she cannot wait to come in and tell us all about it.” Kaye then quipped: “Oh she is good at keeping secrets!”

Joanna, who plays Stacey’s also spoke out about the return in an episode of Off The Telly on BBC Sounds. Chatting to co-host Natalie Cassidy she said: “I’m so excited to see the gang again and start filming, and I can’t wait to find out if Smithy has said yes.

“I can’t wait to find out what’s happening to everybody! I’m going to have to keep that script away from your [Natalie’s] little paws. But yeah we are going to be able to review it on our show at Christmas and I will be very cross if you aren’t sitting down on Christmas Day watching me!”
