Girls Aloud chaos as panicked Cheryl forces Nadine to step in as she struggles on stage

The Girls Aloud tour was thrown into a spot of chaos after Cheryl struggled on stage – but luckily a bandmate was on hand to help.

The star-studded quartet featuring Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh are back in the spotlight for the first time since the passing of bandmate Sarah Harding in 2021. The chart-topping girl band have headed off on their mammoth reunion tour.

But during their show this week in Dublin, Cheryl appeared to struggle to sing her solo lines. So much so, that she had to call on Nadine to step in for her.

In a video shared online, Cheryl can be seen tapping Nadine on the arm for support, during their performance of iconic tune The Promise. Dressed in a stunning gold dress, the Irish lass looked confused at Cheryl’s gesture.

She then nodded in agreement – with Nadine singing Cheryl’s line: “If you want to forgive me start again, if you want to be with me in my arms.” Cheryl smiled in support while the band finished the rest of the track.

Fans online were quick to point out the moment. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “The look of panic when she asks ‘what is it.’”

Someone else added: “Poorly? Out of breath?” A third penned: “It’s the flinch back just as she’s about to sing. Sheer panic!” Over the weekend, Cheryl previously told the Irish crowds in Dublin she was struggling with her voice.

It comes after Cheryl broke down in tears on stage during the second night of the tour. The 40-year-old pop star was overcome with emotion as she belted out I’ll Stand By You alongside Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh during a sold-out gig in Dublin on Saturday (May 18).

Towards the end of the performance, which featured vocals from their late band member Sarah Harding, Cheryl was seen grabbing for Nadine’s hand and the pair walked towards each other before they were joined by Kimberley and Nicola.

In a video shared by a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, Cheryl could be seen with tears streaming down her face as Nicola moved her friend’s long brunette locks out of her face.

As the girls sang the final note of the song, the lights went off and the famous foursome walked off stage embraced in a group hug. The band returned to the stage for the first time in 11 years for the first night of their reunion tour in Dublin on Friday (May 17).

Before their performance of I’ll Stand By You, Nadine told the crowd: “We’re going to do a duet with Sarah tonight. It’s going to be us, Sarah, you. Let’s do this together.” Sarah’s vocals then began to play as her four bandmates sang live on stage alongside their late friend.
